Grow as you glow
Your worm's body now grows a segment for every 3 light, up to 16, so you can see who has been eating at a glance.
A good round now shows on your worm. Every 3 light you gather adds one more segment at the tail, up to ten more than you started with. After a strong minute the leader trails a long bright ribbon across the cave, and someone who just arrived is a short stub.
Spill light in a bump and you shed segments from the tail. A new round starts every worm short again.
It is only the body you see. Bites, bumps, and reach still go by the head, so a long worm is not easier to hit. Same 75 seconds, same points, same cave.
